Perched on a hillside overlooking Santa Barbara wine country, the 5-acre outpost merges mid-century style with modern rustic chic.
Skyview - an iconic roadside on Highway 101, offers 33 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, heated pool and a working vineyard. Originally built in 1954, the motel had fallen into disrepair and the new owners saw an opportunity to create a boutique luxury motel.
Using excel spreadsheets as their motel-specific moodboards, the client saved images and ideas for both interior and exterior materials, finishes, furniture, and designs. Ten Over Media worked closely with them to understand the overall project vision down to the construction details, translating all these ideas into a VR experience and project images.
Our team used virtual reality to immerse the client in the finished product, giving her a better understanding of the space and furniture scale.
The photorealistic renderings helped the client make decisions on finish materials, furniture combinations, and color schemes. They were used in the client’s pre-opening marketing campaign and published to numerous travel magazines and newspapers.
“I was blown away by attention to detail the 3D images and VR experience provide. Ten Over was able to transform mood boards into 3D images. It allowed us to see our ideas come to life before we making costly design decisions regarding materials, colors and textures.”
